Experiencing The Hideaways Club Luxury Spanish Steps Apartment.

As part of my partnership with The Hideaways Club, I recently had the opportunity to check out one of their dreamy holiday properties for myself, and oh my gosh it was so incredible I’ve been so excited to tell you all about it! Whether you’re already a member of The Hideaways Club or thinking of joining, this is a comprehensive review of their Spanish Steps apartment in Rome, Italy, and how we found staying in a serviced apartment that was essentially a home-from-home, compared to staying in a hotel. TL;DR: It was amazing.

The Hideaways Club Personal Concierge – Before Arrival

A few weeks before we even arrived at the apartment we got an email through to the members portal which gave us a floor plan of the apartment and allowed us to choose which guest was assigned to which bedroom. It also allowed us to choose either a twin-bed or king bed configuration for each bedroom, which I thought was really handy!
As well as choosing and assigning bedrooms, we could also create an itinerary and see the most popular attractions, bars, and restaurants etc in the city, and then put a request in for a booking. I requested certain dates and times at a couple of bars, and the concierge booked tables at the requested bars for us. It was so great because it meant we had a guaranteed table at each bar instead of having to stand or nab a table as someone left!
The portal also allows you to book transfer to and from the airport, and you can give them your flight number and arrival details so you’re picked up at the correct location and time.

Arriving at the Spanish Steps Apartment

We arrived very late at night, and despite flying business class with British Airways, our bags were the last off so we were *very* late to the apartment. Thankfully our lovely local concierge Danielle was ready and waiting for us outside the apartment with the keys! She showed us in, provided us with the WiFi details and gave us a mini tour of the apartment (including showing us the cereal, milk, and bottled water that had been stocked up in the fridge for us!), and then left us to get some sleep.
She also followed-up with us on WhatsApp, and gave us the WiFi details again via WhatsApp in-case we needed them, and a big list of her favourite cafes, restaurants, and bars in the local area! Every time we had a question throughout our stay we were able to just message Danielle and she always responded almost immediately. It was just so invaluable having local knowledge literally at our fingertips at all times.

The Apartment Space

The apartment completely blew us away from the moment we stepped inside! It was absolutely huge for a holiday apartment, with a very large entrance hallway, living room, dining room (which has the perfect lighting for doing your make-up), kitchen, two bedrooms, three bathrooms, a playroom, a laundry room, and a spacious walk-in wardrobe.

Each room was eclectically decorated, well-appointed, and had everything you could possibly need from a vacation home, including air-conditioning and heating depending on which season you visit, Molton Brown toiletries, and everything you could possibly need in the kitchen to cook up a storm (they even provide you with basic kitchen supplies like spices, salt, pepper, olive oil, balsamic, and cereals). There’s also a small library of books, and they even provide travel adaptors for your use.

And then there was the balcony.

A Juliet balcony stretches the entirety of the apartment, with the living room, dining room, and second bedroom all having access to the balcony and one of the most iconic views in Italy – the Spanish Steps. The perfect place to people-watch during Golden Hour!

One of our favorite things was the plush hairy chair in the living room! I even spent a day working from this chair – I dragged it to the balcony door and sat with the sun streaming in, my feet poking out the door onto the balcony, and the people hustling and bustling below us, tap tap tapping away on my laptop and reveling in the opportunity to work from such a beautiful location.[All photos of me by Posh, Broke, & Bored]

The Location

You quite literally cannot get a better location than this. The apartment is located on Via Condotti which is where all of the major high-end fashion brands are located, and if you’re not looking for a new Loewe straw bag, you can pop down the road to H&M and the high street brands.
The apartment is also a 2-minute walk from the Spanish Steps, a 10-minute walk from Villa Medici, and around a 15-minute walk from the Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, and Pantheon. The Colosseum is around a half hour walk, as is Vatican City, which flies by as you go past all the other major sights en-route to the Colosseum (although we did get a fair few taxis as well as we are lazy and were tired from eating so much pasta and gelato).
In the area are a plethora of fabulous cafes and restaurants, including one of my favourites from our trip to Rome; La Buvette! As well as La Buvette which is a short 4-minute walk from the apartment, I also recommend sitting down and enjoying a gelato at Caffè Ciampini, and sipping on cocktails at the stylish Stravinskij Bar at nearby Hotel de Russie. In the wider area the best Carbonara can be found at Armando al Pantheon (bookings in advance are essential), and pizza from il Chianti Vineria is a must! And of course, a visit to Rome would not be complete without multiple gelato’s from Giolitti.

Overall Opinion of The Hideaways Club Spanish Steps Apartment

Overall our stay was blissful, and we loved how close we were to all of the major sights and attractions! We also loved that we could choose how often the apartment was serviced – we chose every other day which worked perfectly for us. It was a welcome change staying in an apartment that really did feel like a home, and in such a magical location, rather than in a hotel. I don’t think I will ever forget our stay or the beautiful view from the balcony!
