A Spring Ladies Lunch at Dalloway Terrace.

Despite it being just round the corner from my office, I haven’t been to Dalloway Terrace for a while, so it was high time I returned. I was keen to check out their new Spring floral display, and Arleen and I were well overdue a catch-up so we popped along for lunch last week and enjoyed a feast of cocktails, seafood, and dessert!

As always the terrace was stunning, and decked out in beautiful Sri Lankan flowers! Arleen is a bit of a flower buff so was able to name all of them – I didn’t have a clue haha.

For my cocktail I chose the exceptionally summery Colonial Garden which is a refreshing blend of Glendalough Rose Gin, Limoncello Luxardo, Lime Juice, Gomme Syrup, and Belsazar Riesling Foam. The flavour combinations worked very well and I adored the sticky-sweet Belsazar Riesling foam sat atop. Arleen decided upon the sightly disappointing Ceylon Punch which was a combination of Mango-infused Ceylon Arrack, Ceylon Black Tea, Citrus Shrub, and Coconut Water. She is a huge tea lover (she owns her own luxury tea company that partners with the likes of Elan Cafe and Saint Aymes), and was sadly a bit disappointed with it.

Food-wise we started with Oysters for A and Dorset Crab on Toast for me…

And then we moved on to grilled Whole Dover Sole (off the bone) for both of us, with sides of the Tenderstem Broccoli, and Parmesan and truffle fries!

For dessert I chose (and demolished) the Passion Fruit Tart, while Arleen opted for the Cheese Selection.

I do love Dalloway Terrace and the food is always exceptionally good, but the service was quite slow (3 hours for a 3-course lunch), and we did have to ask for bread because they didn’t bring it to us like they usually do. It’s such a great place for a ladies lunch though, and it’s very handy being so close to work!
