Life Update: Moving Back To London & Letting Go.

These words are nine years in the making. Eleven years ago I moved to Australia, and fell in love. With the country, the beaches, the sunshine, my friends, and a boy. When I had to return to England nine years ago, I was heartbroken. I felt as though I had been torn away from the place I was supposed to live forever, and over the next seven years all I did was dream of moving back there.

My 27th Birthday Celebrations in Sydney.

I think last year was the first year I didn't post about my birthday celebrations (read my previous birthday posts here). I was in Perth and so didn't really do anything wildly exciting for it like I usually do. I was sad to be turning 26 (hello, almost in my late twenties!), and didn't feel like celebrating much. This year was a little different. I've had a pretty awful 2018 so far with an unexpected loss back at the start of the year. And so I wanted to start afresh with turning 27. 26 was full of heartbreak and heartache, and I wanted to celebrate a new chapter and how far I've come, how strong I've been, and how proud I am of myself.

A Day Trip to Palm Beach and the Real 'Summer Bay'.

Palm Beach is a dreamy little coastal suburb an hour north of Sydney, it's also the real-life location of Home and Away's Summer Bay, so if you're lucky you might even see them filming! While my parents were in town I was keen on ticking it off my 'Sydney bucket list', and I'm so glad we did! It was such a relaxed and peaceful place to spend an afternoon, and felt world's away from Sydney.

Brunch at The Grounds of Alexandria, Sydney.

One of the cutest places in Sydney, the Grounds of Alexandria are Instagram-gold with their pretty gardens that make you feel as though you're in the tranquil countryside rather than the middle of the city. Not to mention they serve ah-mazing brunch food and dreamy milkshakes! I've been a couple of times now and have to tell you all about it.

Roadtripping from Sydney to the Great Ocean Road.

My parents were visiting me in Australia for two weeks over the Easter long weekend, and so we booked in a trip to drive from Sydney to Melbourne, and then road-trip the Great Ocean Road from Melbourne to Port Campbell, before driving back up to Sydney via Bendigo. The roadtrip was a bit of an epic drive, and despite my meticulous itinerary and planning, we learnt a lot on the way that I wanted to share with you all in the hope that it will help you if you're planning a similar trip!

Girl's Lunch at Henry Deane at Hotel Palisade, Sydney.

Henry Deane at Hotel Palisade is one of Sydney's famous rooftop bars. It's made for Instagram and Pinterest, with blush pink furnishings and brushed gold finishings, baby pink Frose and photogenic food. And the added bonus? You get a breathtaking view over the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

10 Photos That Will Make You Want to Visit Monkey Mia.

Monkey Mia is one of the most beautiful places I've been to in Australia. Granted I haven't been everywhere yet, but I've seen a fair amount, especially Western Australia where Monkey Mia is located. A long nine hour drive from Perth, it's well worth the epic journey and the journey in itself is an adventure!

The waters here are full of marine life, from the wild dolphins that are in the bay constantly, to the giant dugongs, to the turtles, the stingrays, the hermit crabs and starfish. It's quite a weird thing to get tired of seeing dolphins, and casually remark "Oh look, another one", but that's what happens at Monkey Mia as there are just so many of them!
