My 2018 Travel Plans and Wishes.

Every year I do one of these posts and I LOVE them. It’s so satisfying when you tick off some of the things that were on your ‘wishlist’ part, and I have some big ones this year. I only have three trips firmed up so far, but I’m hoping to get some more sorted over the next couple of months!

Abu Dhabi and Dubai, UAE

So I’m actually in Abu Dhabi right now! I left London yesterday and am just spending tonight in Abu Dhabi before heading to Dubai tomorrow for three nights. You may remember I spent a week and a half in Dubai, Doha, and Muscat at the end of 2016, and I had such an epic time I’ve been desperate to go back ever since! I’m staying with Nige again in Dubai and we’re gonna party our way through the next few days.

Kuala Lumpur and Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia

I booked this a couple of months ago, and it’s been a long time in the making. Jasiminne first invited me to spend Chinese New Year with her and her family in Malaysia a couple of years ago, but I couldn’t get the time off work. I am SO excited for this trip. I can’t wait to finally meet Jasiminne’s family and see her home city after the past few years of friendship and being travel buddies! We’ve got a day in Kuala Lumpur, and then three days in Malaysian Borneo in Kota Kinabalu, and obvs we’re gonna pay a visit to the Orangutans, which is a HUGE bucket list item for me.

Perth, Australia

I originally wanted to head back to Perth for Australia Day this year, but the flights are crazy expensive so I’m going at the beginning of March instead. I’ll just be there for a weekend, and I’ll likely just do the usual; catching up with friends, brunching, beach, freo, river, and my favourite cafes and restaurants and bars etc.

Great Ocean Road, Australia

This is still in the planning stages and is still up in the air and may change, but my parents are coming to visit me in Sydney for a couple of weeks in March and we’re planning to go away for a few days somewhere. At the top of the list is the Great Ocean Road, but it all depends on availability as it’ll be over Easter. Sadly my brother can’t join us and needs to stay home in the UK, but I’m so excited to show my parents around Sydney and do some travels with them!

Vanuatu, South Pacific

This is half booked, the hotel is sorted, I just need to book the flights. I’ll be heading to Vanuatu in May for a weekend escape from Sydney’s autumn. I’ve wanted to visit for about ten years – ever since my girls and I had the crazy idea to go on a girls trip there…at the age of 17 hahaha. Obvs that didn’t happen, but I’m finally going and am so excited to have a weekend in paradise and sing all the songs from the South Pacific movie haha!

Samoa, South Pacific

This one was on my list last year along with Vanuatu, but I just didn’t have time to do the South Pacific, so I’m also really wanting to visit Samoa and American Samoa along with Vanuatu. There isn’t a lot of tourism or hotels on American Samoa though so I’d likely just do a day trip as they’re so close. Fingers crossed this one happens!

Queenstown, New Zealand

Another one that was on last years list! This is also sort-of booked, again for May. I don’t know why but every year I end up doing a fair amount of travel in May…it seems to be my ‘travel month’. I visited New Zealand for the first time in September, spending a long weekend in Wellington and Dunedin to visit friends, but I’d love to visit Queenstown and do a roadtrip to Milford Sound.

Athens & The Greek Islands, Greece

I’ve been longing to visit Athens for years, I’m desperate to wander the Acropolis and soak up the history. While there I’d also love to head back to the Greek Islands (I visited Kefalonia a few years ago) and do Mykonos or one of the smaller islands. For absolute ‘dreams’ I would LOVE to do Yacht Week, but it depends on dates and if I can persuade one of the girls to come with me!

Ahhh I'm so excited for your South Pacific trip – I've still got the songs from Moana stuck in my head and thanks to that movie the islands are Samoa must-visit places (Samoa = some of mah, geddit? *crickets*). Can't wait to see you in February! x

Hey, I love this, I'm already looking forward to 2019! Australia is on our list too but again with costs it's somewhere we want to go for a longtime to make it really worth the while. 🙂 One thing though, the spacing seems a bit much – then again maybe it's just me 🙂

Being in Europe, I'm so close to Greece I'm ashamed that I've never been! Athens & The Greeks Islands is definitely on my travel list! Vanuatu looks INCREDIBLE as well!
