Royal Automobile Club Summer Ball 2017.

When I moved to Sydney I always knew I would really miss all the social events I used to go to in London. One of the hardest parts of moving was packing away my ball dresses, clutches, and sparkly jewellery, and knowing that I wouldn’t see the glitz and glamour of London’s clubland for a many months.

As soon as I got back to London in July for my three week visit, I hit the ground running and had a couple of black tie events and a couple of other more relaxed ‘lounge suit’ events to attend. One of my favourite was the Inter-Club Summer Ball at the Royal Automobile Club, which I also attended two years ago in 2015.

Once again the summer ball was located at the Woodcote Park clubhouse rather then the Pall Mall one, and the ball was Wimbledon themed this year. As always with the RAC, the attention to detail was astounding! I’m always super impressed by their events and love going to them – not only is the detail impressive, but the food is always top notch too. We were really lucky with the weather – the evening was filled with bright sunshine and clear blue skies!

We started with a drinks and canape reception in the grounds, before moving inside for our two-course dinner. My friends and I spent the majority of the drinks reception taking photos, chatting and laughing, and then I wandered the crowd mingling and having quick catch-ups with friends I hadn’t had a chance to see since I’d been back in town.

The tables were all cleverly named after tennis stars, and we were on table ‘Novak Djokovic’, which was apt as I saw him win the ATP World Tennis Finals a couple of years ago! There was also a very cute package of ‘strawberries and cream’ sweets at each persons table place, and even the table centrepieces were glass jars filled with tennis balls and purple and green flowers!

Main course was Scottish Beef with tiny tennis ball shaped vegetables, while dessert was *the* most delicious Eton Mess with a twist! The Eton Mess was Baked lavender meringue with Devon clotted cream, English strawberries, and white chocolate. It was pretty amazing and I wish I’d had another haha.

I’m not entirely sure what Amy and Scott were doing in this pic tbh… ha.

And then, it was dancing time! Also obvs we had to get photos with the Andy Murray and Roger Federer cardboard cutouts 😉 haha!

I left about an hour before the event finished to head up to Tramp in London to see Adam, but the others continued on and promised me I didn’t miss too much. Another incredible ball at the RAC! They really do throw the best parties.
