How To Pack Carry-On Only For a Weekend Trip.

I'm a notorious over-packer when I have a large luggage allowance...but when I'm restricted to carry on only, I'm pretty great at planning outfits to make the most of the small weight and space. I usually take my Lipault Originale Plume Cabin Suitcase when I'm travelling carry-on only, but if I'm just going on 24 hour, overnight trip, then I take a holdall (my Country Road one is my fave) as I don't take much with me. As well as my suitcase or holdall, I also take my rucksack, or if I'm flying Easyjet who don't allow a second 'personal' item, I use this handbag and put it inside my cabin suitcase.

Day Trip to Fitzroy Island, Queensland.

Fitzroy Island is just a 30minute boat ride from Cairns in Tropical North Queensland, and it is complete and utter paradise. I only had two nights in Cairns as I was just there for the weekend, but I wanted to make the most of my visit and see both the Great Barrier Reef, and one of the tropical paradise islands. After much research I chose Fitzroy Island due to it's proximity to Cairns, the incredible photos online, and the fact you could do a day trip or a half day trip.

Weekend Escape To The Great Barrier Reef, Queensland.

A couple of months ago I was sat at my desk, wrapped in a blanket, desperate for some sunshine and warmth. I spent my entire lunch break searching for cheap flights somewhere hot with great snorkelling, and after ruling out the Southern Great Barrier Reef and Northern Western Australia, I settled on Cairns and Tropical North Queensland. I'm really happy I made the decision, as I had the most incredible weekend snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef with all the fishies!

Say Hello...

When I first started Lux Life over six years ago, it was a personal blog about my crazy wild life in London and my travels around the world. As the blogging world has grown and evolved, I've felt the pressure to conform to the new type of content that's being created - ya know, all the fun stuff; lists, advice, tip posts, etc etc. I started writing this type of content very gradually, but over the past year or so feel it's been filling my little personal space a bit too much. And so, I've created a new project.

The 5 Ways I Travel Regularly With A Full-Time Job.

Many of you will know that despite taking 15 trips in 2016, I have a full-time job, and just work on my blog and freelance writing projects on my evenings and weekends. With a love for travel, I always knew when I finished Uni and started working five years ago, that I would have to be very careful with my holiday days to make the most out of them. Over the years I've had a lot of questions about how exactly I travel so regularly while holding down a full-time job. In 2016 I took 15 trips, including visits to; Paris, Thailand, New York x2, Antigua, Milan, Lisbon, Geneva, Dubai, Oman, Qatar, and Australia.

Luxury in 24 Hours: Canberra, Australia.

While I was in London I realized that despite living in Sydney for almost a year, I actually haven't seen much of the East Coast. I've seen a large chunk of the West Coast from when we lived over in Perth, but since moving to Sydney I've barely touched this side of the country. I promised myself I'd change this ASAP, so as soon as I got back I booked in trips to Canberra, Cairns, and Melbourne (again). Canberra - Australia's Capital City - is just a 3 hour drive from Sydney, so we set off early Saturday morning, and spent 24 hours exploring the home of the Freakshake!

Hotel Review: East Hotel, Canberra.

Canberra is known in Australia for it's stylish hotels and incredible food scene. It's a little known secret amongst Aussies that not many tourists are aware of, and I think it kinda needs shouting about. The thing is, Canberra is small, and there isn't much to do there, but seeing as it's the Capital City of Australia, it has to have *something* to make it stand out, and the hotels and food are exactly what makes it. East Hotel is a trendy and contemporary hotel located in one of the affluent inner suburbs, and has one of the coolest bars and most exceptional Italian restaurants I've been to in Australia.

MNKY HSE, Mayfair - The Hottest London Restaurant of 2017.

MNKY HSE is without a doubt the hottest restaurant in London right now. First came Coya, then Chiltern Firehouse, then Sexy Fish, and now MNKY HSE (pronounced 'Monkey House'). A Latin American fine dining restaurant on Dover Street in the heart of Mayfair, the restaurant is fairly unassuming from the outside, and it's only when you walk through the bar and descend into the basement that your eyes adjust to the effortless cool surrounding you. Match that with incredible Latin American food, and you have a winner.

Royal Automobile Club Summer Ball 2017.

When I moved to Sydney I always knew I would really miss all the social events I used to go to in London. One of the hardest parts of moving was packing away my ball dresses, clutches, and sparkly jewellery, and knowing that I wouldn't see the glitz and glamour of London's clubland for a many months.

As soon as I got back to London in July for my three week visit, I hit the ground running and had a couple of black tie events and a couple of other more relaxed 'lounge suit' events to attend. One of my favourite was the Inter-Club Summer Ball at the Royal Automobile Club, which I also attended two years ago in 2015.
