A Wild Night at Drama Park Lane, London.

While I was back in London there were a couple of nightclubs I wanted to check out that I didn’t have a chance to experience before I left for Sydney last year (mainly because I was too busy going to all my faves!). I was only back in town for four weekends, and so I needed to balance visiting my old favourites, with testing out some new ones. Thankfully I managed it and left London pretty chuffed with the awesome nights out I got while I was there, and they were so good I just had to tell you all about them!

The first one I’m gonna tell you about is Drama Park Lane, and is leads off nicely from my review of Shangri-La At The Shard. You see, Edd and I went to dinner at Ting at Shangri-La, and then after drinking the bottle of Veuve in my room, we jumped on the Jubilee line to Green Park. Apologies for the mobile photos, but I didn’t fancy taking my camera and getting it broken, and I also love doing these posts like I used to – just showing how much fun we had and not worrying about having perfect photos! After all, this is not a magazine, it’s my real life and I love being able to share it with you!
Drama is at the very back of Hilton Park Lane, where Whisky Mist used to be. We walked in, and found Edd’s friend…also called Ed (but spelled with just one D). Pretty soon we were even more drinks down (at the Shangri-La we polished off 3x cocktails each, 1 bottle of champagne, and 4x glasses of wine each), and to be honest I don’t remember much, so I’m just gonna tell you what I *do* remember…

…stumbling into the bathroom every 30mins and wondering if the toilet lady thinks I have a bladder issue, rather than the fact I’d just been drinking liquids constantly for hours…
…flirting massively with Edd’s friend Ed^, and then when Edd told me Ed had asked him if I was single, I suddenly became completely uninterested…
…Edd breathing a sigh of relief when I suddenly became uninterested in Ed because he didn’t want to be the third wheel…
…rapping the whole of Gold Digger and being super proud of myself for remembering all the words…
…Edd wearing my handbag for me because I kept leaving it at the table and he was worried someone would steal it…
…begging the DJ to play my fave hip-hop tunes, and him being pretty impressed with the ones I was requesting…

…and then sitting down with my feet up on the table because they hurt too much and drunk Catherine forgets her manners…

…but then an amaze song would come on and I would turn into a Beyonce back-up dancer and throw major shapes on the dance floor…
…throwing so many major shapes with such confidence and panache that women were cheering me on (srsly, when does that ever happen in a club!? Usually they just give you evils!)…
…Edd and I having to explain to said women that ‘yes we look super cute dancing together, but no we’re not a couple’ every time one of them asked how long we’d been together…
…both of us essentially c***/p**** blocking each other because friends are more important than anything else…
…getting too drunk and then being all emosh with each other about how grateful we are for our epic friendship…
…the awks moment when the lights came on in the club and realizing that it’s now empty….
…getting in the taxi back to the Shangri-La and wondering how on earth I was going to wake up for work the next day…
…waking up at the time I was supposed to be in the office…and having to work through lunch and then work late to make up for it…
…Edd sending me a whatsapp photo of his panicked face, saying he’d only just woken up (at 10am) and completely missed his big important client meeting #worthit…
…Feeling SUPER grateful for having a guy friend like Edd that I can literally have the best time with, spend the entire night laughing with, and have zero emotional/sexual history with so nothing is ever complicated or awkward. <3 Srsly, so lucky. Girls, if you find a guy friend like Edd, DON’T EVER LET THEM GO.

Oh, and go check out Drama, we had THE BEST time!
Stay tuned, in the next couple of weeks I’ll be telling you all about a fun girls night out at Charlie 😉
