My Top 7 Nightclubs and Bars in Dubai.

Yep, I’m back again to tell you all about my favourite nightclubs and bars in one of the world’s biggest party cities. Last month I treated you to My Top 5 Nightclubs in NYC, and now…well, now I have a Top 7 for you, because it includes bars and nightclubs and not just clubs. Also there are just so many amazing bars and clubs in Dubai it was super hard whittling it down to just a few!
This is my last post from Dubai and the Middle East, after this one it’ll be aaaaaall Australia for a while hehe, so grab a glass of champagne and let’s start the day off right…

What to wear when clubbing in Dubai

Although Dubai is a Muslim country and you should wear respectful clothing while in hotels, shopping malls, and public areas, in bars and clubs everyone wears the same clothes you would wear anywhere around the world for a night out. I tend to stick to black jeans and a nice top just to make sure I’m still covered to a certain extent, but dresses are okay too. Click on the below images to go to the product page and purchase the item or to see similar products.

So, let’s get into my favourite nightclubs and bars…

1. 101

101 (pronounced one-oh-one), is without a doubt my favourite bar in Dubai. I tested out 11 bars while I was there (so 7 of them didn’t make this list as there are 4 bars on this list),  and 101 just really stood out. The cocktails were amazing, the vibe was super glamorous and laid back, the staff were really lovely, and the setting…well…you felt as though you were in another world. Just look at this skyline…

2. Shades

Shades is another epic bar. It’s the perfect place to spend an afternoon swimming in the rooftop infinity pool, sipping on the most incredible strawberry frozen daquiris, smoking shisha, and then watching the sun go down and the city lights come on. The strawberry frozen daquiris were literally the best I’ve ever had, and the inifinity pool really needs to be seen in person to be believed – you actually think that someone may swim over the edge and fall onto the city traffic below!

3. Zero Gravity

Oh Zeros. I had two epic days here, and one night, that’s how much I loved it. I much preferred the day party to the night one though. By day it’s much more relaxed; you can chill on the beach, go for a swim in the pool, listen to awesome music from DJs that play on the stage, and drink a magnum of Grey Goose vodka (not by yourself though, that would be irresponsible).

4. Mahiki

Mahiki Mahiki. I absolutely adore Mahiki in London, but haven’t been for quite some time, favouring Cirque le Soir and Cuckoo Club these days. So when I heard there was a Mahiki in Dubai, I had to go and see how it compared to my old favourite haunt! Well. The Dubai one is even better than the London one. The DJ was insane, so so good, and we had the best night there! Also there’s a swing. Which is always fun.

5. Jetty Lounge

Jetty Lounge is another really nice chilled out place, very similar to 101 in vibe. They’re both owned by One & Only Resorts, hence the similarities, but Jetty Lounge feels a little more trendy and more for groups of friends. It’s also easier to get to, and the cocktails are great. The seating and tables, and really the whole design feels very Ibiza, with a lot of white, coloured lights, and seating actually in the sand on the beach.

6. Coya

Despite being a bar and restaurant, Coya has a huge party atmosphere, even on weekday nights. Plus they do an excellent pisco sour, which always gets a big tick from me. A great place to go to for dinner and drinks before a night out at Number 7…

7. Provocateur

Located right next door to Coya, Provocateur was amazing. The original is in NYC, which I’m yet to go to, but we had such an epic night at the Dubai location. It’s perfect if you like house and techno music, and although personally I’m not a massive fan, for some reason the DJs here were so good I had the best time and found myself loving it! They somehow made sure that there was a beat you could actually dance to, and Nigel and I stayed as long as we could until our feet could hold us up no longer.

It’s safe to say my experience of the Dubai party scene was pretty amazing. I was very lucky that I was staying with my expat friend who knew the best places and knew which places I would love, so I really hope this helps you if you’re struggling to figure out which bars and clubs to hit up! Also the one that I really wish we’d visited that we just didn’t have time to was 360, so add that to your list if you have time. I know I’ll be going straight there as soon as I return!

The 'urban beach' and 'infinity pool blending into skyscrapers' is such a South East Asian thing! My friend's apartment complex in Kuala Lumpur has a sky beach and two infinity pools, which seems strange to some but it makes perfect sense – trust Dubai to get it right! 😘
