Top 5 Natural Eye Creams for Eczema on Eyelids

Eczema Creams For Face & Body Eczema
When I first wrote my Eye Eczema story many years ago I had no idea how much attention it would get, and how many people I would be able to help by just sharing my own horrific experience and reporting back on my findings.

For the majority of these people the product I recommended has worked for them too, and so I thought I’d put together a little guide on my other favourite natural eczema creams that I use on my eyes and face.

Balmonds Skin Salvation

Having suffered from eczema for most of my life, and face/eye eczema since 2012, I’ve spent a lot of time testing out products to get rid of my eczema flare-ups. Balmonds Skin Salvation (previously Pure Potions Skin Salvation), is one of the products I always have in my bathroom cabinet in case of a flare-up.

The ointment is soothing and rich, and perfect for layering onto your eczema flare-ups overnight to give it plenty of time to soak in and work its magic.

I personally only use this product on my eye and face eczema at night because it takes so long to soak in that make-up can’t be applied over the top. But I highly recommend it – it works brilliantly and can also be used on babies and children who are over six weeks old.

Balmonds Skin Salvation is free from parabens, preservatives, petrochemicals or perfumes, which makes it perfect for eczema-prone and sensitive skin.

Dr Organic Manuka Honey Range

The Dr Organic Manuka Honey Rescue cream is my favourite product for my eye eczema and dry skin on my face.

It’s perfect for your night-time skincare routine as it’s incredibly thick and moisturising, and when I have a flare-up I carry it around in my handbag and apply it every couple of hours. I find doing this gets rid of my eye eczema within a few days and helps the dryness and red skin on my face.

I first discovered this cream in 2012 and have been using it on my eye eczema ever since. If I could only keep one skincare product for the rest of my life, this one would be it!

The cream is an intensive hypoallergenic emollient that leaves the skin intensely moisturised. Using a complex blend of bioactive organic Manuka Honey, the Dr Organic Manuka Honey Rescue Cream guarantees that the nourishing and restorative properties found in this unique honey are captured and combined to produce a rich, absorbent bioactive cream.

Moogoo MSM Cream

The MooGoo MSM Moisturiser is a moisturiser that makes your skin silky smooth and moisturised, thanks to the 10% of MSM sulphur in the formula. It’s ideal for those suffering from eczema on the face or the body, and is a great cream for babies and children because the formula is so gentle.

This is the product I use the most on my body when I have eczema under my knees or larger patches elsewhere on my body.

MooGoo products are free from mineral oils, parabens, and phenoxyethanol, meaning you can use it on sensitive skin without worrying about what’s in the ingredients list!

Shea Butter

I know, I know. It seems Shea Butter is the answer to literally everything these days! But I promise it does work, and it’s a fantastic cheaper alternative if you’re on a budget. I’ve tried and tested many products on my eczema over the years, and Shea Butter just really really works on dry skin. It also worked really well on my mum’s eye eczema when she had a random flare-up recently.

I tend to apply it at night and slather it on, and then let it soak in while I sleep. It’s a great natural product to keep my skin moisturized and the eczema at bay underneath my knees – especially during the winter when it’s really affected by the extreme temperatures.

I’ve found Shea Butter to be the perfect food for my skin, keeping it moisturised throughout the day and getting rid of those pesky dry elbows whilst being gentle enough that my sensitive skin doesn’t react to it. Full of antioxidants, essential fatty acids, and vitamins, it is exactly what your skin needs when it’s having a dry moment.

Caudalie SOS Serum

The Caudalie SOS Vinosource Serum is one of my absolute hero products for my eye eczema and dry skin on my face. It’s perfect when you need to apply make-up but want to moisturise your skin beforehand, because it soaks in so quickly but is SUPER hydrating.

It’s just so perfect for your morning skincare routine as it soaks into the skin pretty much instantly – allowing you to apply your make-up immediately after without waiting for it to soak in like the other creams on this list, but still providing your skin with an abundance of hydration.

I was honestly so skeptical at whether it would work because it feels so thin and runny, but it really did help and I also found it very gentle on the skin. It is a pricier, more luxury product, but for me it’s worth it for the ability to put my makeup on straight away after use.

What about when it’s REALLY bad and nothing works for me?

If my eyelid eczema is really *really* bad and just won’t budge (tends to happen once maybe every couple of years), then I use a teeny tiny bit of Betnovate from the doctor. Sometimes when it’s really bad your skin just needs a little bit of help to fix itself, but do not use these steroid creams on your face regularly as it thins the skin and can be very damaging if used too much and too long-term. After using a tiny amount of Betnovate for a couple of days I then use the Dr Organic Manuka Honey Rescue Cream to finish it off!
