Lunch at The Petersham Hotel, Richmond.

The other week my friend Hilary and I went for Sunday lunch at The Petersham Hotel in Richmond. It had been a while since we had a proper catch up, and as Hilary lives near Richmond it was the perfect place for a gossip and delicious lunch!

Vietnamese Fine-Dining at House of Ho, Fitzrovia.

It's funny how blogging has brought so many awesome people into my life, when I first started Lux Life nearly five years ago I had no idea there was even a blogging community! Every so often I get to go to an event that gives me the opportunity to meet other bloggers...and through these events I've met some really lovely people who I love spending time with. A couple of weeks ago I went to an event at the new House of Ho in Fitzrovia with few of my favourite bloggers. The original House of Ho in Soho has been renamed Ho Modern Vietnamese, with the new House of Ho being more of a fine dining concept. We had a pretty sensational meal...

NYC Day 4 - Farewell New York.

On our last day in New York we wanted to take the day easy and not rush around, but were determined to get to the West Village and just wander around. We'd been out the night before, got insanely drunk (when in NYC...), and didn't get back to our hotel until around 4am. I had to get up relatively early as I had a meeting at 10am, and while I left Anna sleeping off her hangover, I completely loved walking from the hotel up Fifth Avenue and towards the Waldorf Astoria.

Live The Life RX.

I don’t talk about it much on here (apart from in this Cuba post), but I absolutely love cars. Vintage cars, classic cars, muscle cars, and modern supercars too. I work right by Selfridges, and summer in London is my favourite time of year as I can hear the Lamborghinis roaring up and down the road outside the office. I often leave the office and spend the entire walk back to Bond Street drooling over the lines of cars over from Dubai and the Middle East.

NYC Day 3 - Lower Manhattan.

On our third day in New York we awoke as early as we could after the previous night's epic party with Drake. We started with a delicious breakfast in Soho at Jack's Wife Freda, and then got a taxi down to Wall Street to get the ferry over to Ellis Island. We finished the day in Brooklyn. While we were in Soho we fell in love with it, it was so typical NYC - fire escapes on every building, and the buildings were this beautiful deep red brick.

Jack's Wife Freda, Soho NYC.

You can't really go to New York City and not go somewhere for breakfast or brunch. Jack's Wife Freda is probably one of the busiest and most famous breakfast spots in NYC, it's on the majority of the 'best breakfast in NYC' lists, and we had to wait 45mins for a table on a Sunday morning. So was it worth it? Heck yeh it was!

Yes, those are all people standing outside waiting for a table!

Hotel Review: The Langham, New York.

Last year I had a staycation at the Langham Hotel in London, and after experiencing such incredible service there, their sister hotel, The Langham NYC, instantly sprang to mind when Anna and I were choosing our New York City hotel. The thing with New York is there are so many to choose from, but we knew we wanted something central, and modern and sleek rather than old school and stuffy. The luxury five-star Langham Hotel on Fifth Avenue turned out to be absolutely perfect for us, and they even kindly upgraded us from a Langham Suite to a Residence Suite!

Drizzy Drake's Private Party in NYC.

Before I even went to New York I knew I wanted a proper NYC night out. Little did I know what this big beautiful city had in store for me...

NYC Day 2 - An Empire State of Mind.

Day two was probably my favourite day of our whole trip. We packed so much in and managed to see so much, including the Top of The Rock! We started the day by getting the hotel house car to Chelsea, where we were going to have breakfast at Empire Diner. Unfortunately it recently closed down, so we walked down the highline, and stopped off at Chelsea Market for the most delicious bagels!

NYC Day 1 - New York, New York.

Like many people, it has been a dream for years to one day visit New York City. It's a city that evokes so many emotions, and is a city that is such a huge part of most of our lives. From the music, the tv shows, the movies, the news. It's one of the major cities of the world and is therefore naturally a city that most people are intrigued by and drawn to.

In 2015 I included NYC on my 'Travel Wish List', but sadly I couldn't tick it off that year. Completely unexpectedly back in January one of my best friends from Australia, Anna, who you've seen on the blog before, messaged to say she was going to be in New York and did I want to go over and join her. I didn't even have to think about my response, I had my flights booked within days.
