Disney’s Cinderella Experiences.

So you might remember from previous posts that I have the most gorgeous god-daughter, Rosie. Every time I see her I can’t get over how much she has grown and developed into a little girl, and every time I see her and she asks me to read her a story, or gives me a hug, or wants to just hold my hand, she manages to melt my heart. One of my very first blog posts was about her christening when she was just eight months old, and now she’s four. F O U R people! I don’t get to see her often as she lives so far away, so when I do see her I always want us to create some sort of special memory, not just for her, but for me too (just coz I’m selfish like that).
When Rosie and her family last came down to stay with me, I took her to see Santa at the Harrods Christmas Grotto, and then we went for lunch at the Rainforest Cafe. Naturally this time I had to top that somehow, and so when the guys over at Disney got in touch about the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique it couldn’t have been better timing. When Rosie and my bestie and her husband come down to visit me again in April, we’ll be heading to Harrods to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique so Rosie can be completely and utterly spoilt with the Cinderella experience.
Disney are doing heaps of cool stuff to celebrate the release of the new Cinderella film, which comes out in UK cinemas on 27th March, and Harrods are taking part in quite a bit of it. For the adult women who love a mix of high fashion and luxury, you could not ask for anything more perfect than the Cinderella Shoes. A number of the biggest designers have designed limited edition Cinderella slippers available exclusively in Harrods in their Shoe Heaven on the fifth floor. My favourites are the Jimmy Choo’s, I mean, just l o o k at them! They’re a complete work of art.
As well as the Cinderella slippers, Harrods and Disney have also combined to create some of the most beautiful and magical window displays Harrods has ever seen, and the month long celebration of Cinderella at Harrods also includes the opportunity to view the sparkling glass slipper created by Swarovski, the stunning original costumes designed by Academy Award winner Sandy Powell for the new film, as well as the luxury designer shoes and other collections inspired by the iconic Disney Princess.
Six scenes from the film have been recreated in the Harrods windows, bringing to life Cinderella’s magical journey of courage and kindness. Scenes depicted in the windows include Cinderella meeting her Fairy Godmother, and the wicked step-sisters’ unsuccessful attempt to make the glass slipper fit. All of the windows feature the original costumes designed by Sandy Powell for the film and as worn by the all-star cast including Lily James (Cinderella), Cate Blanchett (Lady Tremaine) and Helena Bonham Carter (Fairy Godmother).
There are loads more events and things happening in Harrods to celebrate the release of the new Cinderella film. I love seeing companies join together to create such an innovative and fun advertising campaign, that not only promotes the film but also insights joy into the hearts of everyone who has ever loved the original Cinderella film. I walked past the windows the other day and they made me smile so much at the memories of my childhood and love for Disney films.
I’ll definitely make sure to tell you all about our Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique experience, I might even do a little vlog too! If you haven’t already, I’d really appreciate if you could take a few seconds just to click the subscribe button on my new youtube channel! 🙂

OMG Cinderella Jimmy Choos!! I've got two fave Disney films, The Little Mermaid and the Lion King, even though it's lacking in princesses!
    Lots of love,
