Classic Car Boot Sale, Southbank.

London has some pretty cool events going on every day around the city. The weekends are full of things to do and places to go and see. This weekend was the Classic Car Boot Sale down at the Southbank Centre near Waterloo. As soon as I saw it was going on I messaged Sarah and as a fellow lover of all things vintage, obviously she was up for it. It's basically a car boot sale...but every car has to be pre-1989, hence it's a 'Classic Car Boot Sale' rather than just your standard car boot.

Thankfully the sun was shining for us, and we queued up and paid our £4 entry to get in. It was absolutely packed with people, many of them in vintage clothing! I've been a huge classic car fan since I was fourteen years old and went on holiday to the Deep South of America. We toured 'round in a swanky Chrysler 300c, visiting six of the southern states, and I fell in love with the old classic cars in Memphis and Nashville. The 1959 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz went straight to the top of my car wish list, as did the wish to visit Cuba just to see all the old cars (only two months until I finally go!).

Anyway, Sarah and I spent hours wandering around the boot sale, checking out the old cars and vintage nick-nacks on sale and eating some yummy street food, until our legs gave up after we spent hours dancing with the gang in Archer Street last night.

After looking at all of the cars and car boot stuff, we went up to the food truck area to get some lunch. There was a whole range of choices from jerk chicken to burgers to lobster rools and everything in between. We opted for hot dogs, they looked incredible, and they had proper crispy onions which you rarely get over here.

We then went and got ice-cream and walked around with them drooling over the candy coloured 1950's cars. My personal faves were the Cadillac and Mercury, and there was also this lovely mint coloured one that matched my ice-cream!

After we'd looked at all the cars and eaten our lunch we went to the bar for our first Pimms of the season. There was live music playing, including a group of women (above) who sang Glenn Miller tunes to keep everyone entertained.

This little beauty was the highlight of my day. I'd love a red Corvette Sting Ray to drive around the countryside on the weekends...but wouldn't we all! Maybe one day...

Individualism 'Buttoned Up' Party.

Friday night Alex, Jemima and I headed down to Ping in Earl's Court for the Individualism 'Buttoned Up' party. Aka, the fashion party of the quarter. Individualism is predominantly a men's style collective, and the guests at the party just oozed sartorial elegance and style. Well dressed men and women were everywhere you turned, and I felt completely underdressed in my LBD and flats! I went for cocktails at Apres before the event with Caroline and Laura, so I was in an outfit suitable for all events.

The night included waiting at the bar for far too long just for a coca cola (I was driving and had already had my one-cocktail-allowance at Apres), before heading over to the Style Booth to be camera whores and take advantage of the awesome photographer, Ikenna Mokwe. Jemima and I were then interviewed by the co-founder of Individualism, Reuben Christian, for their video of the event, whilst Alex did his manly duties and held our bags.

After having our photos taken we wandered over to the Ping Pong tables and decided to get stuck in. After all, you can't go to an event at a place called Ping and not have a go on the Ping Pong tables! We spent hours playing...and I kept everyone thoroughly entertained with my very own version of Ping Pong. It's called tennis...with a table in the middle that the ball may happen to bounce onto every so often. My brother and I play it all the time, we have a Ping Pong table at home and whenever we go to a hotel that has one we go crazy and cause chaos with balls bouncing all over the walls.

In the middle of one game I suddenly noticed a guy who looked very familiar...so I called him over and quizzed him on his name. Turns out it was who I thought it was...I went to school with his brother for 5 years! He and his friend joined our game and when we were all finally thrown out of the venue at 2am, we headed over to VQ for a late night snack. A really fun night, and it was so good to see Jemima again - it's been far too long!

Tribal Media Birthday Party.

Last week before Jasiminne and I went to Sushisamba, we went along to the Tribal Media first birthday party at The Great Eastern Bear in Shoreditch, in collaboration with new men's fashion brand N1 Angel. There was champagne and strawberries, a great DJ and live band, fabulous company in Jasiminne, Joe, and of course Mel, and the goodie bags contained the tastiest vanilla biscuits I've ever had!

I was still totally jetlagged and feeling very lazy, so threw on my black skinny jeans and an oversized black glittery jumper (you can't see the glitter in the pics, boo), and then dressed/brightened it up with my amazing Yull Cornbury shoes. Jasiminne looked amazing as always. I'm already dreading our Cuba trip in May, I need to go shopping ASAP.
