Brunch at Bubby's in Tribeca, NYC.

Brunch is my favourite meal of the day. I love it. And when in New York you kinda have to go big as breakfast and brunch is such a huge deal there. While we were in NYC in August, Jasiminne and I had two stand-out brunches that were just incredible, first we went to The Standard Grill, which you can read about on Jasiminne's blog and my Day 3 NYC Post, and then we went to Bubby's, aka, home of the epic pancakes...

Yep. Just look at those pancakes! We were staying just round the corner from Bubby's (roughly a 10min walk) at The Conrad, so on our last morning we headed over there for their famous pancakes. It was a beautiful summer Sunday, the sun was shining, and we were hungover and in desperate need of comfort food. We also didn't have a whole lot of time as we had to catch our flight down to Florida early afternoon.

The cafe is adorable, nestled close to the cobbled streets of Tribeca and surrounded by those gorgeous red brick buildings with black fire escapes, it's an Instagrammers dream. The cafe walls are surrounded by pretty potted flowers and plants, and as you enter you feel as though you're entering old world New York, New York.

We sat up at the bar and I ordered a homemade peach lemonade while Jasiminne had an ice-cold glass of co-cola.

I took one look at the menu and instantly knew what I was having; Local peach and blackberry pancakes. Jasiminne on the other hand needed something savoury, so she had eggs, sausages, and a couple of plain pancakes. My pancakes arrived and my jaw dropped...

Jasiminne caught this photo of me pouring my maple syrup over them...

They were without a doubt the best pancakes I've ever had (even better than the Banoffee Pancakes that Blue Duck in Cottesloe used to do), and I adored the delicious peach and berry combo. I desperately tried to finish them all, but sadly they beat me. Sad times.

We paid up and then headed back to the hotel to grab our luggage and get a taxi to the airport. It was the perfect end to our NYC visit.

  7. Those pancakes are everything and more! I can't tell you how cross I am with myself for not doing a single, yes not even one NYC brunch when I went there last year!! Was packing so much into my days that was just grabbing a banana and eating on the go but I'm definitely correcting that when I next return!

  8. Haha yes I know. I've collected coca-cola bottles since I was 14 and have around 50 of them, so am definitely aware of the name. That's just how I've always pronounced it because I'm too lazy to say 'coca-cola', and hate saying 'coke' because it just makes me think of cocaine. So I spell it how I pronounce it.
