Live The Life RX.


I don’t talk about it much on here (apart from in this Cuba post), but I absolutely love cars. Vintage cars, classic cars, muscle cars, and modern supercars too. I work right by Selfridges, and summer in London is my favourite time of year as I can hear the Lamborghinis roaring up and down the road outside the office. I often leave the office and spend the entire walk back to Bond Street drooling over the lines of cars over from Dubai and the Middle East.



With a very long wish list of cars that I’ve had since I was about eleven years old and continued to add to over the years, I’ve always wanted to work with a luxury car brand but never been offered the opportunity…until now.

When Lexus got in touch to tell me about their new ‘The Life RX’ campaign, it immediately caught my attention; not just because of the fact it features a luxury car, but also because it features Jude Law (helloooo), and they’ve interestingly used members of the public and created a 360° video featuring all of these things! Intrigued? Thought so. Let me tell you more.

Lexus are known for their innovation having created the very first luxury hybrid, the RX 400h SUV, in 2004. So it’s not surprising to see that they’ve created a campaign using one of the latest technologies. The 360° video was created using 80 GoPro cameras, and features 100 members of the public who think they’re attending the launch of the new car.



The members of the public were guided to the RX as they arrived, and while sitting in the car with virtual reality headsets on, Jude Law and the film crew got to work around them turning the space into a red carpet complete with paparazzi and crowds of fans screaming for them.

The guests exit the Lexus and excitedly walk up the carpet and into the screening room for the premiere of the film The Life RX featuring none other than themselves! Naturally Jude Law appears and they go wild for him (let’s face it, who wouldn’t). A true luxury immersive theatre experience!




The whole film is an interesting use of technology and it’s super cool to be able to hover over the toggle in the upper left-hand corner of the video and choose which view you want to see! 360° videos always fascinate me, it’s so clever how they make them and really great to see companies using the technology in their campaigns.

With the Lexus RX 450h interior featuring a leather and wood design with laser cut dark wood by Yamaha, it's sleek and classy, whilst the outside looks smart on the road. Spec-wise the RX 450h combines a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine with two electric motors, delivering seamless power to all four wheels. Thanks to the instantaneous torque generated by the electric motors, you can accelerate to 62 mph in just 7.7 seconds, while emitting just 120 g/km of CO2.
