Waitrose #MakesChristmas Dinner.

My Christmas officially started on Monday, when I had a full Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, thanks to the lovely folk over at Waitrose! I’m so excited for Christmas this year, I’m heading up to the Lake District to spend Christmas with my Aunty, Uncle, and cousins who I haven’t seen for three years, and I haven’t been up to visit them in the Lakes for seven years! It’s crazy considering I’m just a few hours drive away.
I’ve started celebrating Christmas early to try and make it last as long as possible, and what better way to start celebrating the season than dinner with a few of my favourite bloggers, favourite supermarket, and our lovely host for the evening, Phillip Schofield?

Phillip is Waitrose’s wine expert and chose all of our wines and champagnes for the evening! I arrived at the Waitrose Cookery School where the event was being held and said my hello’s to Emma and Fiona who were already there, drinks in hand. Soon Ben, Katie, and Kelly arrived too, and we donned our aprons and set to work making cocktails in a cocktail masterclass!

We made delicious cranberry and orange margaritas (hellooooo Christmas), before learning how to make the most amazing canape. It contained feta cheese, champagne jelly, hazelnuts, flavoured foam, and an emulsifier, and it tasted like heaven in your mouth. It was so good I may have made four of them…*ahem*

After our lessons we had photos with Phillip (I got a selfie, obvs), then sat down for dinner. The starter was salmon and beetroot (those of you who are regular readers will know what happened to my plate of this ;)), and then it was onto the main course!

An epic Christmas dinner, complete with bubbly! The chef carved the turkey in front of us, and then the waiting staff plated it up. It was such a treat, we quite literally had all of the trimmings, and everything tasted incredible! I tried my very best to finish it all, but it was so huge I just couldn’t manage it. I only left a few little bits though (mainly the sprouts).

After our dinner we then iced some delicious Ferrero Rocher cupcakes, and got to take a box of four of our own cupcakes home. Then it was dessert time. Sherry trifles, mince pies, and a cheese selection! Can it be Christmas every Monday!? Please?

The Waitrose Christmas campaign this year is all about the moments that make Christmas for you. It could literally be anything, big or small. Is it flying home to your family? Decorating the tree? Volunteering at Shelter? Eating all the chocolate?
Personally so many things make Christmas for me. Family, drinks with friends, Dylan in his Christmas hat, the inter-club Christmas ball, people singing carols, and so many other things.
