Lux Life’s October 2015.

It’s been a few months since I last did a monthly update. The summer was pretty crazy and busy, as it always is, so I didn’t really have the time to do extra posts. I can’t really believe how quickly this year has gone by, it’s so scary! October 2015 has been a pretty great month; I started the month in St Vincent and The Grenadines, on Palm Island.
I flew to Palm Island with Virgin Holidays for a week of relaxation with my best friend Rach at the Palm Island Resort. We had the best time, it was such an incredible week and it was literally perfection. Not to mention I finally got to live out a childhood dream and swim with sea turtles!
I got back to London the first weekend of October, and just a couple of days later went to Archer Street’s 4th birthday party with Amy for an evening of cocktails and music. Archer Street is one of my favourite bars in London, I first went there back in 2012 shortly after it first opened, and even had part of my birthday there in 2014.

Just a day after Archer Street it was the W Amsterdam launch party on a boat on the thames! We had such an awesome night full of glamour and delicious canapes.
The weekend after I got back from Palm Island I went to see Sunset Boulevard with my mum, aunty, and nanny. I didn’t really know what it was about beforehand, but I found it a bit weird and really rather depressing. I wasn’t a huge fan. As such there are no photos. Soz.
October was a busy month for events, with the Waldorf Hilton relaunch on 13th October. Edd and I went along and were really impressed with the gorgeous Palm Court, the contemporary styled 1920’s Astor Suite, and the extremely impressive canapes! I honestly don’t think I’ve had such good canapes before (hello mini bowls of Pork Belly!), and Edd loved the popping candy chocolate puddings so much he had FIVE. Yes, f i v e.
I also went to visit Jasiminne’s new shop, Regimental Vintage! It was so brilliant to finally see it and I feel so proud of her and Henry for everything they’ve achieved! The shop is absolutely gorgeous, and I loved playing dress up. Jasiminne even tried to put me in one of her Herve Leger dresses which was bloody hilarious – “I can’t breathe, omg, I can’t slouch, my back hurts!”. We were then gonna go for dinner at Duck & Waffle, but they were closed for a private event! I was having a really rubbish day and hadn’t eaten much so was pretty hangry and just wanted my Duck & Waffle, and I had to leave early to get home so we didn’t have much time to find somewhere else. Eventually we found an awesome pizza food stall and had a yummy pepperoni and mushroom pizza!
The weekend after I went to Paris for a girls weekend away. I’ll be telling you all about this over the next few days, however I’m just going to write up two restaurant reviews and a photo diary as it was my fifth time in the city. You’re probably all bored of hearing about it by now, haha! There is no question about my love for that beautiful city though, I find it so easy and relaxing to visit as I know it so well now. Our Eurostar was delayed for so long on the way back that we’ve been given a free return journey each, so you’ll likely be hearing about it again in 2016!
After returning from Paris I went to the launch of The Savoy’s new cocktail menu with Henry. We had a really great evening sampling a few of their new cocktails, and I was really impressed with the head barman. I told him I’d had an incredible cocktail there about three years ago, it was yellow and tasted of passionfruit, and was served in a Martini glass. He instantly said ‘Oh that was our Skyfall cocktail, we created it to celebrate the movie’. How could I have forgotten that when I blogged about it, and a photo of the barman is even in that post!? Haha!
The day after The Savoy event  had a day of food. I went for lunch at Hakkasan Mayfair with Mina and Alix, and then dinner with C at Mole Mexican just round the corner from my office. I’ll be telling you more about Mole very soon as it’s one of my new favourite restaurants!
On the Friday I went to my favourite private members club, The Savile, for my friend Cain’s birthday (although the photo above is Dom, not Cain). The Savile boys are some of my favourite people, they never fail to make me laugh, they’re terrible influences which often makes for some very hilarious parties and nights out, and they’re also incredibly supportive of my blog. They’re a bit special and I love spending time with them all.
The following day my parents and I went down to Sandbanks to take my brother out to lunch for his birthday. We had a run on the beach, which was very windy and cold, and Dylan decided it was a great idea to run straight into the sea and get absolutely soaked.

The last half of October really was a super busy one, as on the Sunday I went for lunch with Mina, Suze, Angie, and Kelly at The Ivy to see their refurb. We had a really lovely afternoon and I can’t wait to go back again soon!
On the Monday I went to see the new James Bond film, Spectre. A few friends and I went for drinks at the W Lounge in the W Hotel, and then went to the ODEON on Leicester Square for the first public showing of the film. I absolutely loved it, it’s definitely one of my favourite 007 films, it has the perfect mix of old and new Bond.
I had a couple of dinners with friends that week, including a luxury dinner at Chotto Matte with my best friend to celebrate our slightly belated 20-year-friendversary (aka, the anniversary of us becoming best friends 20 years ago). I’ll tell you all about that in a couple of weeks though – we absolutely loved it and enjoyed every dish we had!
My October ended with Halloween. Friday night I went to a Halloween party at Cuckoo Club with Grey Goose, and then last night I had a house party at my friend Jonny’s house with the guys/group from The Savile. As I did a Halloween themed outfit on the Friday (a devil, obvs), I just went as a flapper last night and used my old flapper dress from the Gatsby party craze in 2013. The night was pretty epic, and I didn’t get home until 6:30am this morning – and the party hadn’t even finished when I left! I went to sleep and woke up at 11am to discover an elastic hairtie around my ankle. I literally have no clue how that got there. Also, the photo of Lex and I (fan and hat pic), is there purely because he asked to be on the blog more often. Your wish is my command!
October has been a pretty awesome month, a month of travel, parties, and awesome friends!

Excuse me, can I please swap lives with you for a month.
I forever regret the decision of not going to the Bahamas with my parents! It sounds/looks dreamy.
I love the little Mexican skull. We brought home a few from Mexico in September.

I actually can not believe that you packed all of this into a month?!! Do you ever go to work young lady? 🙂 It sounds like you had the most fabulous time – food, friends, evenings out, travel…the recipe for the perfect life I'd say!
