A Farewell Party at Noir W1.

It’s funny how you go from having school friends who you see every day for years, to work colleagues who you see every day for months or years. So when someone leaves, it’s always a bit of a shock. Especially if they’re going to a new country. Usually if someone leaves and just goes to a different agency, they’re just down the road and you can still meet up for drinks or lunch, but a new country!? Heck, that’s a big move! So when Nigel announced he was moving to Dubai a couple of months ago, we knew we had to send him off in style.
Step in Noir W1. This bar used to be Apres, which I reviewed last year and went to a few times, but it’s recently had a re-brand, and it looks ah-mazing. It’s also just across the road from our office, so is super handy to get to! We booked the downstairs Frolic Room, and with around 40 of Nigel’s nearest and dearest from work and media vendors, we sent him off in the best way possible; with good tunes, incredible cocktails, bottles of champagne, plenty of shisha, and an amazing new vapour cocktail, Airdiem.

As well as Nigel leaving two of my other work friends Rahima and Seb were also leaving (it always happens in threes…), which meant even more reason to get very drunk and celebrate their amazing new opportunities (Rahima is off to Net-a-Porter, and Seb’s new client is Rolex!)!
The Airdiem tastes very much like shisha, and Noir W1 is the first bar in the UK to offer it.

The cocktails at Noir W1 are just incredible. They were good when it was Apres, but they’re even better now! I can’t remember what this one was at all, but it had candy floss on top and was probably one of the best cocktails I’ve ever had, it was so fruity and tasty!
The staff were really lovely, and as we had The Frolic Room we also had a private DJ and bar!
The barmen were amazing, and at one point I just wanted a strawberry, so the barman gave me an iced glass full of berries! Heaven!

After an evening of shisha and cocktails I headed home and left the others to it! It was an emotional goodbye to Nigel, but I have no doubt that he will be arrested and deported from Dubai within a year, so we won’t have to last too long without him. I’ll leave this little post with this photo of my boss and Nige hugging it out…
Thanks to Noir W1 for being so amazing and making it such an awesome evening!

The vapour cocktail sounds intriguing and how nice that they gave you a bowl of fresh fruit

It's always sad to say goodbye to friends – but it's always good to do it in style!

Beautiful mix of the fun and emotional moments!! I hope you all enjoyed this event. Our farewell party had been organized at one of the finest event halls in Philadelphia. It was a blast but at the very same time it was very hard to say goodbye to friends.
