A Girl’s Weekend in Margaret River.

Last weekend the girls and I packed an overnight bag and jumped in my brand spankin’ new shiny hire car (seriously, I’m the first person to use it…pressure much!) to go down south to Margaret River for the weekend.
We stocked up on fuel and food, then started the long drive down with the music cranked up to the max. Singing along to the Pitch Perfect soundtrack for most of the way, we eventually got down there at around 10pm, exhausted and ready for dinner and bed.
We stayed at the Pullman Resort Bunker Bay, and were welcomed with a lovely bottle of local Margaret River wine, and a pamper kit. Perfect! We walked into the bathroom and screamed at the sight of the huge tub, so naturally we immediately jumped in it to take best friend selfies. After far too long taking selfies in a bath tub we then made ourselves dinner and turned in for the night, ready for our busy day the following day.

The next morning we went for a walk down to Bunker Bay beach intending to go swimming, but sadly the beach was really choppy and windy so we decided not to. Instead we strolled back to the resort and went for a swim in the pool.

The pool at the Pullman Resort is ah-mazing! It’s an infinity pool that overlooks the beach and the treetops of the resort. Naturally us being us we spent our time in the pool taking selfies with the underwater camera rather than relaxing like most of the other people there…

Please remove the fence Pullman Resort!? It sorta ruins it a little…

After our swim we headed back to our villa to get showered and ready, packed our bags and headed off for a day exploring. We’ve all grown up going on holiday to the Margaret River area right from when we were little kids – you may remember how I spent Easter Weekend just down the road in Busselton last year – so we know the area pretty well. We decided to drive to Margs for a long lazy breaky with some friends at Morries, then we visited some wineries including The Growers on Wildwood Road, where you can get really great bottles of wine for just $10-$15!

After The Growers we started to drive back to Perth, stopping off at The Margaret River Dairy Company to get cheese and milkshakes on the way. The milkshakes there are seriously the best you’ll ever taste, you choose what flavour shake you want, and then you can choose which flavour ice-cream you want to go in it!

On our way back home we stopped off at my Aunt & Uncle’s to see their new car…isn’t she a beaut! A 50-year-old Jaguar E-Type, she makes the most incredible sound, I have a video so I’ll try and upload it soon.
It was really great to have some time just the three of us, reunited after 4 years apart with all of us at different corners of the globe. We’ve all seen each other individually during that time, but not all together at the same time. Best friends for life for sure. It’s funny how you can be away from your closest friends for so long, but when you’re all reunited it’s like nothing has changed and you’re all as crazy as the last time you see each other. This is what happened 4 years ago when we last saw each other…it was my 19th birthday so we had a BBQ on the beach. I can’t believe I’m going to be 23 in just two months time *sob*

Margaret River makes me think of my favourite Sauvignon Blanc! Looks like you had an amazing time! The under water shots are just incredible.
