Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation.

I got the Bourjois 123 Perfect foundation after searching for a foundation with no parabens in it. This one contains Phenoxyethanol, which is still bad, but not as bad as parabens. I love this foundation, apart from one thing; it's slightly too yellow for me. The foundation comes in a glass bottle, which isn't too great for carrying around in my bag, but it's aesthetically pleasing and has a pump which makes it really easy to dispense.

The foundation has 3 correcting pigments so that you get zero imperfections when it's applied. The three are; yellow to conceal any dark circles, mauve for anti-dull complexion, and green for anti-redness. Like I said earlier, I found this foundation gives me a slightly 'yellow' look, which puts me off, but it definitely does everything it claims, and is by far the best 'high street' foundation I've found without any parabens. I found this foundation gives my skin a much brighter appearance and calms down any red blemishes and discolourations.

The foundation comes in 5 shades, all of which I think are quite light. I picked up No51 Light Vanilla, which is one of the lightest ones. It provides light coverage which you can build up to give mid coverage, which is what I do. It says on the bottle that it lasts for 16 hours, but no way does it do that, for me it probably lasts about 10 if I don't touch my face at all and set it with powder, but if I don't use powder and I'm resting my face on my hands or something (which I usually do), it lasts around 4 hours.

When going out at night I apply with fingers and then use my eco-tools buffing brush and then apply concealer and powder, and by doing that I get a flawless finish despite blemishes. It generally lasts throughout the night, despite my face getting hot and sweaty from dancing in clubs. For everyday going to work etc, I'm a bit lazy and just use the foundation alone to let my skin breathe a bit.

I've been using this foundation for a couple of months now, and I recently repurchased it. Despite the yellow-ness, when powder is applied you don't notice it, and this is definitely now my go-to foundation. I'm still on the search for a decent one that provides good coverage and doesn't contain parabens or phenoxyethanol, so if you know of any, please do let me know! You can get this foundation from Boots, and it currently has £3.00 off it so is down to just £7.99!

Have you tried the Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation? What are your thoughts?

  1. Ooo I've been wanting to try this for a while! I use their healthy mix foundation and love it so wasn't really sure whether to try this as well. Maybe once my healthy mix one has run out :)

  2. I beat this still contain PEG's, Parfum & Propylene Glycol. If you want to step away from these products you need to look away from the high street and concentrate on mineral foundations.

    1. I'm not really fussed about parfum tbh. The rate I get through foundation my budget just can't allow me to leave the high-street brands. Personally parabens and SLS are the ones I'm trying to avoid. If you know of any mineral foundations around £10 though do let me know!

  3. I know Beauty without Cruelty do liquid foundations but it is something you buy online and not super cheap but I think to get paraben free and so on you need to purchase more expensive products.

I've not tried it as I use mineral foundation from Lily Lolo.

I'm not really as bothered about completely chemical free any more. Only thing I avoid is SLS due to my psoriasis. As Lush say:

"They are used globally and are permitted by every world health authority (500 independent safety studies have been carried out over the decades). Scare-mongering ‘studies’ into their potentially negative effects have now been widely debunked"

Obviously I am not saying that you shouldn't avoid them I'm just saying how I used to but now I'm not as "bothered" as I was. lol Mostly as life was getting stressful when they kept changing what was going to "kill me" haha

  4. What finish does this create? I'm looking for a matte finish one and I saw this the other day but stopped myself from buying it in case it turned out to be another one of those radiant ones.

    1. I'd say it's a matte finish! Definitely not a 'radiant' or dewy one!
